We talked about this on Facebook. All that stuff is great, but a third party candidate has to be twice as good just to be taken seriously. He has now had two major flubs on national television, both of them related to foreign affairs. A presidential candidate should anticipate those kinds of questions and have answers ready (and let's face it, they were softball questions both times). He has badly damaged his cause, and the likelihood of him reaching the 15% threshold now, with only two weeks left before the next debate, is extremely low. I'm still going to vote for him because I would still like to see the Libertarian party displace the GOP as the main center-right party in the United States. And I still think he's a decent guy who at least understands the need for compromise, as well as the fact that there are indeed some things that only government can do. But whatever small chance he had to actually win has, I believe, evaporated.
