I'm torn on how it'll turn out! I toyed with that idea, or just moving on to something else (another anime, ala recommended, or something else entirely. There's a million things).

I haven't read the books, so I can't make a recommendation on them either way. I expect them to be good and I'm excited to read them myself, but I can't tell someone else they should go read them if I haven't.

Fuck the contract, it's pronounced "Horo".

The other changes I can generally accept (Yoitz, for example), but Horo is Horo and will always be Horo. Nothing more, nothing less.

This isn't even a matter of pronunciation. If you have a problem with it being written "Holo" you should complain to the animators.

If you have a problem with it being written "Holo" you should complain to the animators.

To be fair, I'd complain to ASCII and/or Isuna Hasekura. They're the ones who instructed Yen Press (the American publisher) to use "Holo".

Fun fact: I thought Isuna Hasekura was female until earlier this year when I saw a picture of him.

Ears can be misleading, especially where Engrish is concerned. Also:

 

Author > Fansubbers

 

As someone who complains incessantly about every little change from the books to the movies of LotR... I think this is silly.

Also, KiWi and TVTropes bring up a very good point: the series takes place in Mediæval Europe. Spelling wasn't exactly consistent back then anyway.
