I'm a side sleeper.  As a kid I had a friend who slept on his back, face up, and I thought it made him look like a corpse.

When I was young, I always slept on my stomach. Can't do that anymore, hurts my neck.

I move around in my sleep a lot.

 

Usually when I wake up I'm on my stomach. I usually go to sleep that way too.

 

I think I maybe spend a good chunk of the night not flailing about nowadays. This is a welcome improvement over being a teenager, when most mornings I woke up on the floor.

I don't like being the outcast.

Back sleeper here. And if I'm sleeping like I want, I usually like my head supported, and my feet up. I would be happy sleeping in a reclined lazy boy chair forever.

I've been told I toss around at night. I think I need a more comfortable bed, because I've awoken on the floor numerous times. It's almost as if my body is telling me that my bed sucks and I need a new one, else I'll be waking up on the floor every night until I meet its demands.

 

Probably not gonna change my bed though, sooner or later, the tossing will stop. It will bend to my will. (:<

Well, it did for me, at least to some extent. I still move around like I said but I don't wake up on the floor anymore.

Most kids sleep on their stomachs.  As you become an adult you become less flexible and it's no longer comfortable.

I sleep in all the ways~~~ Unless I'm sleeping next to someone/thing/cat in which case I don't move. At all.

<3 yeah. I sleep best on my back. Years and years ago, as a kid or whatever, I'm sure I slept better, or tried other ways, but default is back now. If I'm trying other positions in my bed, generally I'm not sleeping well. Depending on how 'much' of a turn is on the side, I might sleep on my side if I sleep on the couch. Pretty sure I sleep on my back if I'm on the floor too, but I've always slept on desks head down I think. ha.

Most kids sleep on their stomachs.  As you become an adult you become less flexible and it's no longer comfortable.

Also related to what haf/PV were going on about. As a kid I would move around all over the place. Kick over my lamp, as a little tike roll out of bed and bash my skull (parents were worried about a concussion because I wouldn't wake up), would often sleep with my head at the top or foot of the bed (I would switch sometimes), and be in the opposite direction when I woke up.

Oh yah, waking up with my head at the foot of the bed. I remember that too. God that's annoying, you have all these cricks in your neck when it happens.
