I really adore ... quite a few. Sigh. B-)

 

Alan Rickman's Sheriff of Nottingham has to get a mention. Prince of Thieves is in many ways a dreadful film, but Rickman and Freeman are gods and save it. Of course Alan Rickman also played Hans Gruber. The guy is one of the best villain actors out there. I haven't seen the Harry Potter films but he's probably great in them too.

 

Bela Lugosi's Dracula is best Dracula. However part of the reason why he's the best is because he's so damn good you sorta wish the vampire would win. So he doesn't really come off as a villain. B-)

 

However I think my vote would have to be for Goldfinger. Except there's no James Bond in the list, you nut. :P

 

"Do you expect me to talk, Goldfinger?"

 

"No, Mr. Bond. I expect you to die!"

 

He was terrific.

I thought about including a James Bond villain, but Goldfinger seemed too old.  Have you watched it in recent years, Haf?  It's boring as all get-out to someone accustomed to more modern action/adventure movies.  And none of the other Bond villains really stood out.

I've watched it recently (in the last year). I enjoy the old James Bond movies still.

Sam Jackson's character in Unbreakable. He was likable, but had that psychotic edge that made him scary.

Unbreakable is one of my favorite movies, but I never even thought of Mr. Glass!

 

His condition in the movie, by the way, is real.  It is called Osteogenesis Imperfecta, and in its most severe form it is even worse than depicted in the film.  I have had patients with this condition.

Yeah I last watched Goldfinger in the spring of this year. I still love it. B-)

 

Also you'll note I mentioned Bela Lugosi. Goldfinger is a lot more recent than that Dracula film.

 

I like old movies.

I like the Sean Connery Bond films the most. You Only Live Twice is my favourite :3

 

What with the bad ninjas, volcano base, generic minions, bizzare gadgets, and evil-genius-with-cat-and-piranha-tank.... So cheezy :3

I don't think there has ever actually been a Bond villain in a volcano base.  Blofeld was shown in an underground lair that is similar to what you are describing, but that was a Connery film.  Scaramanga (The Man With the Golden Gun) had an island.  But most of them just had mansions. 

 

I always liked Max Zorin.

You Only Live Twice has a volcano base. It's ... a barrel of laughs. Cinematic excellence it's not, it's very cheesy, but it's so much fun to watch. Watch it sometime. B-)

Interesting.  Lotta people digging on Heath Ledger's Joker.  It's not hard to understand, he was superb.  But for me it has to be Vader.
