I'm from Michigan, and 99.999% of people say pop.

I think pop is a stupid sounding word, so say soda instead.

What do you call it?

No, really, normally I say pop. But Jones Soda has Soda printed on the bottle. And that's mostly what I drink.

I just say it because soda just sounds better than saying, "Hey want some pop?"

Sounds like something someones pedophile father would ask them.

Well, I suppose you could say, "Hey want some momma" which would come off entirely differently. B-)

It's very New England.  But we say soda too.  The farther out into the boonies you get the more likely you are to hear "tonic."

Well, or certain neighborhoods in Boston, Worcester, or Springfield.  They'd still say tonic too.

Worcester, by the way, for those who don't know, is pronounced WUSS-ter.  Much as Gloucester is GLOSS-ter.

Halifax has about 300,000 people, and is also a hick town. :P

There should be a law forbidding people from referring to places with less than a million inhabitants as a city.
