Okay, here's the deal:  You must spend one year as one of the following animals.  You will possess all of your human intelligence, but you will not be able to speak.  You may live however you are able.  You will simply wake up the next morning as the animal you have chosen; everything else about your life, the world, etc., will remain exactly the same.  Your absence will be missed by friends, family, coworkers, and whatever normal steps would be taken, i.e. someone reporting you missing, etc., will occur.  You may not tell anyone about this arrangement ahead of time, but once you are in animal form you may attempt to communicate in any way you are able.  The animals are:

Mouse

Spider

Sea Lion

Sparrow

At the end of one year (assuming you survive) you will revert to human form and receive $100 million.

Would you take the deal?  And if so, which animal would you choose?

Mouse. Because you retain some motor skills which would make communication easier.

That's true.  But mice also lead dangerous lives.  There are a lot of things that eat them.

Sparrow.

Fly away and hide; I might even make preperations for lots of bird feed.

Sparrows lead dangerous lives too.  They are basically bird versions of mice, at least as far as the food chain is concerned.  Humans would probably leave you alone, but just about everything else — cats, ferrets, stoats, raccoons, and all manner of bigger, meaner birds — would be out to get you.

I didn't pick these at random.  :)

And you can't make any preparations.  You can choose where you will go to sleep, and thus where you will wake up in animal form.  So if you chose sea lion, for example, you could go sleep on the beach if you wanted to.  Assuming you can fall asleep in weird places.  And there's no magic with this part — you have to actually be able to get to the place yourself.

I think GeniusInc has the right idea.  I'd probably go with mouse, and then choose to wake up in my apartment.  With luck I could still use the iPhone, if not then maybe the computer.  Worst case I could probably manage to scrawl some kind of note for when someone eventually came looking for me.  In the meantime there is probably enough food in my cabinets to keep a mouse well fed for months.  But it wouldn't take that long.  If I didn't show up for work someone would eventually call my emergency contact; probably it would be later that same day if they did not hear from me, the next day at the latest.  That would set the wheels in motion.  At most it would be a couple of days, maybe a week if it was vacation-time.

Assuming I could get someone to believe me, it would be an easy year.  But of course that's the trick.  Otherwise, well, like I said, mice lead dangerous lives.  Sooner or later I'd run out of food, but probably they would have rented out my apartment again before that happened.  So what would I do?  Stay and hope the new person doesn't have a cat?  My mother's house is right down the street, but it would be one hell of an epic journey for a mouse.  And there are a lot of cats in this neighborhood.  Even if I made it my old (as in former, she lives at my mother's now) cat would probably kill me.

I'd fly on to an abadonded house of some kind and live there, secretly. Eat worms; with my human intelligence, if I even detected a hint of prey, I'd run away.

I can build homes, like nests, and no-one would question. I thought about a mice, but someone might come after me if I can't get away far enough, and there's too many cats around these parts. A sparrow can escape.

The issue for me would be clicking.  My keypad is my mouse-clicker (hey, that's ironic), and it takes a decent press to click it.  I don't think a mouse could do it.  Maybe.

I would've liked the option for spider to be replaced with a bee, but I guess I'll go sparrow. Can fly, and chirp as much as I please.

Mouse. I'll just live in my family's home the whole year. Mice have practically no bones and can squeeze in any space.

Mice have over 200 bones.  The reason they can fit through tiny opening is that their bones are flexible and their rib cage partially collapsible.  They can fit through any hole big enough for their head (about the size of a dime for a standard adult house mouse).

A sparrow can FLY.

While hiding sounds goods unless I already live near an abandoned house it won't work; sparrows are known for flying thousands of miles just to nest up in some small barn, so, it's okay for me.

The one advantage is that mice are omnivores that can eat almost anything.

But so are sparrows, and sparrows don't need to hibernate, can fly, have 11 times the respiratory efficiency, and all kinds of things.

I would cover myself in poky twigs.

That way, if an animal tried to latch on to me, they'd get stabbed by it, and let go.

I'd be a spider. I'm surprised nobody has picked it yet. I once had a giant spider live for over a month inside my kitchen window (between the glass and the screen). He randomly disappeared one day with no damage to the screen. Don't know what happened to him. I could probably make it though. Plenty of bugs to feed off of cause of the light from the kitchen. To communicate, I just do like charlottes web or something. I think I could make it. Hide up in the top of the window where I can't be seen if I sense any danger. Also, the window is probably about 10 foot or more off the ground so not likely anyone will mess with me there. I know my family won't cause we've had several spiders hang around for a while. One even inside the house until one day it started moving towards my mom while she was cooking and she had to put it down. Lol. If the window itself doesn't work out, I could always just go inside and get up in the corner of our tall ceiling where nobody can reach me.
